Seminar 2011 ~ Strait Stitches A Maritime Event Sackville, New Brunswick May 2 - 7, 2011 |
| You are Invited... The nine Maritime Chapters, on behalf of the Embroiderers' Association of Canada, invite you to "Strait Stitches - a Maritime Event". The PEI Chapter (Lady's Slipper Needle Arts Guild), the New Brunswick Chapters (Chickadee Chapter of Needlearts, Embroiderers' Guild of Fredericton, Kingston Peninsula Stitchers' Guild and Pleasant Valley Stitchers) and the Nova Scotia Chapters (Alderney Needlearts Guild, Marigold Guild of Needle Arts, Stitchery Guild of Bedford and Town Clock Stitchers) have joined together to host Seminar 2011. Mount Allison University, located in Sackville, New Brunswick will be the home to Seminar 2011 from May 2nd - 7th. Sackville, the 2008 Cultural Capital of Canada, is centrally located with the border of Nova Scotia 8 km to the south and the bridge to Prince Edward Island 60 km to the east. The "Strait" in "Strait Stitches" comes from the Northumberland Strait, a 225 km long tidal body of water which lies between Prince Edward Island and the eastern shore of New Brunswick and the northern shore of Nova Scotia. PEI is connected to the mainland by the 12.9 km Confederation Bridge, the longest bridge over ice-covered water in the world. With top quality teachers from across North America, you will be sure to find a class or two to spike your interest. On the free day, you will be given the opportunity to visit the host province of your choice. Do not forget to check out the fund raising kits for a stitching taste of the Maritimes! We look forward to seeing you in 2011. ![]() Seminar Co-Chairs |
